MetaHuman & Unreal

Skip the part where you finish the MetaHuman yourself.

A head from a photo is the easy half. Conforming it, keeping the person's skin, finding the right hair and a body that fits is where the evening goes. FaceNinja hands you all of it.

02 Why it matters

Without the override, MetaHuman swaps in a stock skin.

Conform alone gives you the shape. MetaHuman then picks one of its library skins, and the person's own colouring, freckles, moles and wrinkles are gone. The texture override is what keeps them, and it needs maps in MetaHuman's UV layout, which is what we bake.

Then there is the neck. Heads from photos sit on a template neck; a broad-necked person ends up with a pencil neck and a visible step at the collar. Ours is fitted before it ever reaches Unreal.
